Here are some pictures from Halloween week. Our nanny, Maggie, has been so wonderful. She is so good with the boys and she loves to take them to some local hangouts. This day she took them to the library where they had a parade, story time, and snacks of course. Connor was a Fire Fighter some days during Halloween week, but also a silver knight. Daddy bought him a shield and sword to go with that costume, which he thought were pretty cool. Liam was Tigger, his chubby cheeks filled the costume perfectly :)

Hi Liam!!

Finally getting around to posting some pictures from our weekend in the mountains. Travis ran a 1/2 marathon which gave us an excuse to spend time there. It was absolutely beautiful with all of the Fall colors. The Hunsinger's (minus Wade) joined us and it was a great weekend. It was so much fun to take the kids on one of my favorite bike paths in CO. The pool and hot tubs at our condo were awesome.

We finally got to meet the REAL Thomas the Train. It was very exciting and Connor had a blast. Travis wanted to ask Sir Topham Hat who the 2nd most useful engine was, but Connor was as a loss for words seeing him in person :)

I wish I knew how to turn this picture upright (any help Tennyson or anyone?). It it pretty funny. Liam's bottle dropped and Connor was saying "all clean" as he "washed" it off in the river. He and the bottle are full of mud!

Biking again, finally!

It took a while, but we are finally able to bike again. We're all geared up with our double Chariot, infant sling, and the beautiful weather that we've been having. It's so nice to be able to hop on the trail 2 houses down from ours and ride along some nice rivers/streams and actually get somewhere! Yesterday we rode down to the Platte River Trail and had lunch in downtown Littleton. One of these times I want to make it all the way downtown. I just think it's so cool to be able to do that here without riding on one single street.

We are officially back to work and back to reality! Travis started a new job, which so far has been a blessing. Luckily we found a great nanny, Maggie, so the kids will be safe and happy with her and with Joyce.

We had a great summer and a wonderful trip back to New York. We had so much fun with the family and Connor already misses his cousins! He had a blast playing with the gazillion trains that are there too. Good thing we won't be there this weekend for the hurricane!

Welcome Baby Liam!

We welcomed with love Liam David on June 10th, 2011. What a breeze compared to the birth of baby #1. He is such a wonderful baby and luckily a great sleeper! This makes mommy and daddy able to get through these first few weeks without too much difficulty. He looks very similar to his older brother when he was a baby. Grandma and Grandpa from NY were here and helped out tremendously! We got to celebrate Father's Day with them here which was great.

After a long Blogger drought, I finally decided now that I have a new camera (thanks G & G), I need to figure this out. We threw together a last minute birthday party for Connor at our local park and everyone had a great time! Connor requested dump trucks on his cake, so despite what I wanted, that's what he got. He's still completely into Thomas, Cars, and anything that involves running. We are anxious to start him in a soccer league at the end of this month where he can use some of his energy. Baby #2 will be here any day and Connor couldn't be more excited. We've got him on video explaining how he's going to be such a great big brother and he's so excited to share all of his toys :) Hopefully our next blog will have the new star featured!

4th of July Fun

We had a blast in Aspen, they know how to celebrate America's B-day up there. We hiked at the Grottos... some cool ice caves and waterfalls over Independence Pass. Travis and I did a 5 mile race next to the Rio Grande, Travis got 4th place with a time of ~30 min. Connor had fun with the family and enjoyed jumping over all of the streams in the town and throwing lots of rocks into rivers. He also liked asking everyone for pennies to throw in the fountains. I loved when he exchanged a quarter for 25 pennies in a store, he had such a huge smile on his face :) If only life was that easy.....

We had fun celebrating Connor's 2nd birthday party this past weekend. It was really, really hot out so it was an indoor/outdoor party. Lots of his friends were there to help us celebrate.

Here is Connor's 1st ever "class" picture. Travis said, "don't you think he's the cutest of the bunch?" I responded that I'm sure every parent says the same thing :) His teacher is so great, I really and truly don't understand how she gets 6 toddlers to go to sleep at the same time. We just returned from an amazing trip to Seattle and the San Juan Islands. There is such unbelievable beauty up there and I'm so thankful that we were able to soak it all in. Traveling and camping with a 1 yr old was challenging at times, but Connor did great and we survived. I would highly recommend these islands to everyone!

We're finally bringing our blog up to date. We had a great Christmas in NY. Connor did well on the plane, although it was definitely a challenge. He is now just over 7 months and 17 pounds. His eyes are still blue and hopefully they'll stay this color (thanks to either Grandma Dolores or Grandpa Bud)!

It was great having snow in Denver and we found these pretty horses on our walk.

Colorado Runner

It was neat to see my picture and name in the Colorado Runner most recent magazine. The time they have is a little off (2:42:42), but the picture is great.

This picture was taken around the 10 mile mark. The four of us ran together from the start to mile 13 and then we started to break apart. I almost was able to outkick the guy on the far right to the finish line, but he had a lot more energy then I did at the finish.

Connor's first night out of state! We stayed at a Hampton Inn in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Emily's parents hosted a BBQ Friday night. Beautiful evening and great food.

We talked to a few people and asked how long it would take to get to the top of this monument. We heard everywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour. I decided to run to the top, thinking that it would be a good run, and ended up at the top in 12 minutes. Not the big workout I was planning on, but the views were amazing. It was windy and really sunny at the top, so Kerri had Connor covered up for the picture.

Connor is almost 3 months old already! He's discovering new things like mirrors and how he can suck on his hands. This was a sad week for mommy because she had to go back to work. Luckily, Connor has his loving grandma and 2nd cousin to look after him.

Connor's doing great! At just about 11 weeks, he's weighing in at 10 lbs 5 oz. and he's 24 inches long! He's in the 20th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height, tall and skinny, just like his dad.

He loves being in his swing and watching the animals bouncing around above him.

He has been smiling a ton lately, however; it is so hard to capture on film. As soon as the big black camera comes out, this is what I get...

Daddy likes to tease Connor and pretend that his nose is a pacifier :) Connor goes for it for about a minute, then starts to lose it.

It's been a while, but we're back. We have breaking news!! We are proud to announce the arrival of our son, Connor Henry Daniels.

He was born on Tuesday, June 3rd at 10:30 am and weighed 6 pounds. We are so blessed to have a healthy baby and a healthy mommy. Connor has already grown one inch and has gained one pound. So far, he is a pretty mellow baby and only cries when he is hungry or in need of a diaper change.

We will try to keep the blog updated as Connor keeps changing!

San Francisco

One our favorite (and most exciting) wedding gifts was from Benjamin and it was a mystery vacation. We had to pick the weekend and he would pick the place. As you can tell from the title of this post, the place was San Francisco, CA.

Flew in late Friday night and just went to bed. Saturday morning on Kerri's B-day we slept in until 9 and had a splendid breakfast. We were thinking about touring Alcatraz, but ended up walking all around the city. We walked up to Lombard St, through China town, and all the way over to Golden Gate Park. We managed to get lost a few times and were very tired of walking near the end of the day, so fortunately, my friend Susanne lives near by and was happy to bring us back to our hotel.

The next day we went on an all day adventure with "Incredible Adventures". They picked us up and took us to beautiful Muir Woods. After this, we went to a few small wineries and then out to lunch in Healdsburg. A few more stops in the afternoon and then back to the city. It was a great day. Paradise Ridge was our favorite vineyard and had the best wine.

Bachelor Party

For my bachelor party, nine of us headed up to Craig's parents ski in/out condo in Winter Park. Both Fri and Sat were perfect days to ski/board and the weather was great.
Fri night we played texas hold'em and Craig and Greg ended up winning the pot. I was too distracted by the car bomb I drank. Craig, Nir, and Travis (Craig's other friend) really enjoyed playing poker and wound up playing until 4am.

Sat night all of us went out to dinner to a place called Deno's. Deno's is an upscale restaurant which serves steak, pasta, seafood etc . . . All of us had a wonderful (loud, drunk) time. * * Thank you very much Tre' for picking up the bill. After dinner, we hopped around to a couple bars. Thank you Scott for being the sober driver for the night.

Sun morning I had the bright idea to schedule a snowmobiling trip at 9am the day of the the spring foreword. As you probably guessed, we had a hard time getting up that morning. We still made it to Grand Lake, but 1 hour later then we were scheduled to arrive.

When we arrived at the location the owners were not too happy with us, but everything was ok. I had scheduled a four hour long trip that day, but I was not really not feeling that well, so I managed to get the owners of the shop to charge us for only four hours. Long story short, only Craig, Ben and my brother made it back within the two hour time limit. The rest of us (Scott, Chris, Tre and myself got lost, but luckily made it back in four hours. We were all worried about the fact that the owners of the snowmobile shop might charge us $20 for every 10 minutes we were late, so we hurried as fast as we could back and luckily they were nice to us and only charged us for the 4 hour rate.

What a adventurous weekend ! ! !

National Cross Country Race

On February 10th, Boulder had the best of the best cross country runners compete at the USA cross country championships. The men’s race was a shoot out from the start. Alan Culpepper started off at a comfortable pace while Adam Goucher took the lead early. In the end Alan took first place on the 12K in a time of 37:09, just under 5 minute pace on a very tough muddy course. Adam came in second with a time of 37:35.

This year Kerri and I flew to New York for Christmas.
With the big blizzard in Denver, we were lucky to actually make it there and back. Our flight to NY was a bit delayed and it didn't get in until 2 am. We owe Hank a lot for picking us up at such a late hour. It was a great Christmas and we had such a great time seeing everyone.

The Fray

The last Saturday in September, Kerri, Tennyson, TJay and I headed up to Red Rocks for the Fray concert. One of my friends Sarah is the sister to one of the band members. His name is Joe King and he is seen on the left of this picture.
I have supported the Fray ever since they started here in Denver. I can remember going to a number of the Fray’s small gigs and there were only about 20 people in the crowd. I just hope that the Fray will be able to keep it real with all the growth they have incurred. I don’t see this being a problem giving what the Fray is all about.
The concert was awesome, the weather was perfect again and everyone had a fun time.

Kerri’s friend Jenny, and her husband Wade, had their first baby, little Ellie. Kerri and I went down to Castle Rock to meet their new daughter, only 5 days old. When I held Jenny’s baby for the first time I got a feeling for how fragile life really is for this newborn.

We wish the best for Jenny and Wade as they enter this new chapter of their lives.

John Mayer - Sheryl Crow Concert

Michelle was nice enough to give Kerri and I free tickets to the John Mayer/Sheryl Crow concert. I have not been to a Red Rocks concert for a long time, so it was a real treat. The concert was great and the weather was perfect.

Tennyson/TJay Wedding

We traveled up North on I-25 for Tennyson's wedding in Sheridan, Wyoming. TJay is an avid golfer and had planned a golf tornament the day of the wedding, but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Kerri, Emily, and I toured around the small town instead.

With the weather at 40 degrees and rainy, Tennyson and TJay were forced to host the wedding under a tent. Tennyson looked beatiful & didn't appear to be affected by the cold weather. It's too bad we didn't get to see the Powder Horn Mountain Range, but everyone had a great time at the wedding and made the best of it.

Colorado Relay

My team Blister Blasters competed in this years Colorado Relay, and ended up WINNING by over 1.5 hours.
This relay consist of 170 miles, 10 runners, 2 vans, 2 volunteers and no sleep.
The route goes from Idaho Springs to Gleenwood Springs.

Start times are based on how fast your team 10k times average are. If you are not very fast at all your start time is 5am, but if most of your team is able to run a faster time you are able to start later in the day. My team consisted of faster runners, so we were able to start at the last wave at 10am.

As it turns out we could have started the relay even later, because we ended up finishing at 5:40am the next day.

Kerri's friend Elisabeth flew into town from California. The day she arrived, the four of us headed up to Red Rocks for a hike (inluding Punto). The weather was nice and the food & margs at The Morision Inn were tasty.

The next day we left the house around 10:30 and made our four hour journey to Crested Butte. Once we arrived, we met Ben and Solomon at a coffee house in town. We were all tired of being in a car all day long, so we decided to grab something to eat. After we all had our fill we agreed on a general place to go look for a camping location and as you can see from the picture above we found a great spot near a stream with wonderful views.

If you look past my Explorer you can see the mountian that all of us hiked up. Ben and I originally thought that we would be able to climb this mountain in 45 minutes, but as it turns out the hike took us around 2 hours to get to the top. Kerri, Liz and I hiked while Ben ran all the way to the top.

Wedding Date

Here are some details for those of you who we are lucky to have join us in Cabo.

This date of March 30th is special to me because this date grandma Brenkert's birthday, and close to the date of the Bud and Barbara's Anniversary.

The date of our wedding is going to be Friday, March 30, 2007.

Kerri and I are planning on traveling to Cabo between the dates of March 26 - April 2nd.
The flights are currently around $400 on Frontier Airlines from Denver to Cabo on these dates.

Kerri and I have picked Las Olas as a home base for lodging. If you are interested in staying here, please call or email the contact below to reserve a room. Los Olas is not a hotel, but a condiminium complex with each unit individually owned. This location is on the water and only 20 minutes away from downtown Cabo. Other information:

As of January 1st, 2007, everyone will need a passport to enter Mexico. This is a recent change, as in the past you could enter with just a birth certificate.

We understand that some people will want to bring their children to Mexico. Please keep in mind that we will not be having children at the ceremony or reception. Our wedding coordinator can recommend babysitters if this need arises.

1) More affordable: The Tropicana Inn. This is a quaint hotel w/ a pool in San Jose Del Cabo (roughly 40 minutes from downtown Cabo & 20 minutes from Las Olas).

Kerri and I decieded to go to Elitches for the evening. The day was a little stormy and ended up raining for a couple of hours, but around 7pm the sky cleared up and Kerri and I were on our way to have some fun.

This was probably the best time to go. No lines, great temperature and great people.

After our trip to the Museum of Nature and Science to see the exhibit, Body Worlds, Kerri and I had a nice walk around City Park. We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening.

EASTER 2006

Today was not just any Easter. I was baptized by my fiance, Kerri. I would say that this day was a very special day for Kerri and I to take part in with my continued apreciation for religion. I was very lucky to have all of my friends and family around to share this moment with me. Of those that were there were; Kerri, Emily, Michelle, Eileen, Mom/Dad, Corey, Chris, Susan, Nir, and baby Kayla.
The church service was at 11:15 and the pastor Ron spoke about the afterlife. After the service, Susie introduced the first person to be baptized, Jacob, then Kim, and then I went third. Kerri was my sponsor ( this is someone that is willing to go up to the baptism pool and ask the question: Do you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior? I say I do. Kerri then said "Now as your sister in Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit". Once she said this I went under water, which we later found out represents the buriing of Jesus and as you come up from the water it represents the resurrection.

After the worship service, my parents, brother, Kerri, Emily, Susan, Nir and Kayla went to have brunch at Le Central. This is a local French restaurant located on 8th and Broadway. We all enjoyed our brunch/lunch and the service was excellent.

Stanley

For my 28th birthday Kerri surprised me, and took me away for the weekend to The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. Right away I was intrigued with the idea that this place is really haunted and did my best google matching to find related stories about ghost sightings. I found a lot of hits about this topic and apparently room 407 is the most haunted room in the hotel. I told Kerri that we should request this room, but she wanted nothing to do with that.
We left for Estes Park around 11am on Sat after a nice breakfast and arrived around 12. We were a little bit early for our 4pm check in, so we drove around looking for a place to go hike and I saw this neat mountain that looked like it needed some climbers, so that's what we did.
After hiking we tried to study a little bit by St. Mary's Lake, but it was a little bit too windy for reading, so we headed into town. Kerri bought a gift for her friend that is 3 picture frames hooked together by a string. I bought some Keen sandals which were half off and feel great. We then ate some lunch at Subway and finally made our way to the Stanley Hotel.

The Stanley hotel is very impressive to look at and sits up on a hill side above the town with the famous red roof and white paint. Once we found our way to the entrance we checked into our room 312 and waited for a wedding coordinator to show us around (just in case Mexico doesn't work out). The lady that we spoke to was very nice and informative. The first room that we looked at would be able to hold around 300 people, this is where Kerri's friend Jenny had her reception.
The next room that she took us to was a little bit smaller and has a capacity of 150 people.

After our grand tour of the hotel, we made our way to the work out center downstairs to do a little cardio and lift some weights. This is a very updated gym with all of the latest equipment.

After working out we had to decide on where to eat dinner. We first looked at the menu at the Stanley and noticed that the prices were around 35 a plate, so we asked where some alternatives would be, and a server told us that one of Stanley's good friends decided to build a hotel directly across the town after the two got in a big argument and Stanley's friend said that he could build a better hotel. Anyway the server directed us to that hotel, but when we arrived there we found out that the hotel was hosting a function called fools in love, and kept trying to sell Kerri tickets to the event, but all Kerri wanted to know is if they were serving dinner.
When we finally found out that they were not serving dinner we were then directed to another place called Twin Owls Lodge. Once there we had a wonderful dinner. Kerri and I split a steak and a bottle of wine + cheese cake Yum.
That night was definitely a Stanley experience. Both Kerri and I went to sleep around 11pm and around 2am we were both wide awake b/c with the window open the ferocious winds were making our door bang, the windows were making sounds like they were going to break, and right when Kerri was about to close the window we both heard a sound like a moaning sound coming from outside. We were both freaked out, but once we closed the window and turned on the fan we both felt a little better, and were finally able to get to sleep.

The next morning we had a nice breakfast at a local diner, bought a kite at a flee market, and went for a nice hike. The kite did not hold up too well because the wind was still so strong.

Travis' Baptism

Tonight, we went to an informational dinner about baptism. If you're thinking of a baby being bapitized while screaming their little head off, having cold water poured onto their forehead, and entering into a faith they don't know exists, this is different. This entails choosing to be baptised when you're an adult into a faith you believe in. The ritual will take place on Easter and Travis will have to emerge his whole body into the holy water. The act symbolizes the believer's death to self (being "buried in water"). He will proclaim himself as a follower of Christ. It's probably an act that many people think of doing, but not many go through with it in public. To see more about our church, go to Pathways Church.

Benjamin's Going Away Party

Tonight I had a party for Benjamin. He is leaving to New Mexico April 10th, so I invited a number of his friends to the RIO Grande downtown. This was almost a disaster because a party of 50 people showed up at 4pm, and my evite was for everyone to arrive at 6:35. Luckely my bro was able to get off work around 4, so he arrived at the Rio around 5:30, and saved a table. If everyone were to arrive at 6:35 there would not have been enough room for everyone to sit, but as it turns out most everybody arrived around 7:30, and we bearly fit everyone.
Of those that were able to make it included: Judy, Sam, Katy, Brook, Chris, Emily, Jose, Bridget, Kent, Joyce, Dave, Kerri, Myself, Scott S., Paul, Benjamin and Michelle.
Kerri, and I split the Mango saled, and a steak burrito. I ordered 2 margs + one strawberry light marg which I had to try b/c Chris orders them all of the time when he goes to the Rio. I talked to Bridget, and her friend Kent about the Colorado Relay. Both of them said that they are thinking about joining my team.
Overall I would say that it was a great turnout, and luckely we had enough room for everyone to sit.

Tonight Kerri and I had dinner with Jennifer and Rodrigo at Benihana. The sushi was amazing. Kerri and I split a couple of sushi dishes which were delicious. Jen and Rodrigo ordered there own items. Jen ordered two different sushi dinners, and Rodrigo ordered the filet. We all enjoyed our dinner and will plan to go back.

Engagement Party

My mom and dad were very thoughtful and held an engagement party for us at one of their friends house. My mom grew up with Toni ever since high school. There house is located in the Cherry Creek area and is decorated quite ornately.
We had about 50 guests that included our friends and my parents friends. Overall it was a great showing, with plenty of food to go around. There was even a chocolate fondue fountain which Emily had a fun time with.

Kerri, and I met Last January from a site called www.outsidebyside.com. This is not a regular style dating site, but rather it is a site to meet new people to go play outside. On our first date we drove up to Brainard lake which is located west of Bolder. This is a beautiful hike with plenty of trails to wonder off for the day.

The next date was up in Breckenridge. Kerri was up in Vail for the weekend with her friend Lindsay, and I was in Denver, so we met half way in Dillon in a coffee shop. From there we found a cool snow shoe trail close to Breck, and the three of us (including Punto) hiked the trail, admired our surroundings, and ate lunch. Once we made it off the trail, we both decided that a hot tub would be nice, so we snuck into a hotel hot tub, and found it very stimulating. From there we drove to Idaho Sprigns for some dinner, and after dinner we kissed for the first time.

My dog Punto (puncho) was born on May 29, 2002. He is a Certified AKC Pedigree Weimaraner. He has a been a great companion since the very beginning. We have been on numerous hikes up 14nrs, snow shoe excursions, trip's to the dog park, and many others. At first Punto was afraid of swimming and wanted nothing to do with water. I put on some swimming shorts and lead him into the water with me and once he found out that he could swim, he loves it.
